Travelling with a baby or a toddler sure is a nerve racking experience. What if your toddler gets all fussy amid a flight? What if your baby wouldn’t stop crying while you are fiddling with your id cards during a check in? Nothing is more embarrassing than onlookers staring at you. That is why we have got the best tips and tricks for you that will ensure a stress-free flight for you and your little one.

ü Packing checklist: Start packing before a few days of your scheduled day of travel. Make a list of things that you need to keep handy and things you need to pack in your baggage. Diapers, rash cream, baby feeder, soothers, teethers, baby food and medicines to name a few. Remember you have to carry the essentials only.

ü Diaper bag: Use a waterproof diaper bag with a good shoulder lining as it is easy to carry. It is always a good idea to carry disposal bags along with you. You might not find them everywhere when travelling.

ü Be prepared to breastfeed your baby: Plan to breastfeed your baby on the flight. If your baby howls and screams, only breastfeeding can calm him down.

ü Comfortable clothing: Make your infant wear comfortable clothes. Tight clothing can irritate your baby. Also, remember to carry extra pairs of clothing if one pair gets soiled, you will need another one.

ü Carry new toys: Before you set out on your journey buy new toys for your toddler. These toys will hold his/her attention span for long on a flight.

ü Surprise treat: If you have refused your toddler candies, chocolates and lollipops, carry surprise treats for him/her to enjoy on the flight. You could also carry his/her favourite food item and offer it to the baby when he/she gets irritable.

ü Carry straws or glasses and mugs with lids: If your toddler is fond of juices, carry a mug with straw. This makes it easy for him/her to enjoy the drink without soiling their own and your fellow passenger’s clothes.

ü Arrive early and ask for a gate check tag for your stroller:  Gate check tag is of great help. If you ask for it, the attendant will keep your stroller in the belly of the airplane and will bring it to you when it is time to exit the plane.

ü Travel when the baby is sleeping: If possible, take the flight which matches with your baby’s nap time. Trust us; you will have an easy flight. The baby will sleep through the flight without creating any fuss.
