It isn't all that bad to take a solo trip at least once in your lifetime. We have been conditioned to travel as a couple or in a group. Travelling alone is still not considered to be safe. But if you are ready to take this challenge, read along…

If you are going to India, be assured that by the time you finish you would feel like Columbus.

Each part of India is unique in its own way & by the time your journey is completed you will applaud and say, “Ola, I feel like having toured half the world”

  • Survival of the fittest is the key for your India tour.
  • Be well dressed, that doesn’t mean you wear designer wear. Rather opt for simple yet comfortable clothes that don’t reveal much like a jeans & kurta.
  • Carry handy protectors like first aid kit, sunscreens & dupatta (stole) to save you from pollution, dirt & unavoidable stares.
  • Be ready to explore
  • As I said, every state & city has its own beauty so be well-researched and move about accordingly.
  • Public transport systems are quite well connected especially to the tourist spots. But beware of autos & taxis. Discuss with a native about your routes & learn about the local prices.
  • Temples are pivotal in the Indian culture. Your trump card to knowing the history, geography of lives there.
  • Intercity & interstate Train travels could be your best better than a car/ bus drive.
  • Food is the most important travel interest. Each state & culture has unique food to taste. So drop those ready to eat packs & enjoy your culinary spree.
  • Stay- there are umpteen number of hotels to choose from. Avoid homestay in lonely spots and opt for a budget hotel instead.
  • Shopping- when you are travelling alone, shopping could be tempting but today you get almost everything online. So instead of running around iwith your shopping bags live the moment and move on.
  • Hygiene can be a big deal here. So your water, sanitary needs to be minded at your crest.

Lastly, learn a little martial arts atleast it will help you stop buses!
